  1. Yes, cleaning Windows is a bad idea. You should definitely do a fresh install after getting rid of the data.
  2. Every new version of Windows seem to get more and more restrictive and heavier and more annoying "anti-piracy" features and such. I sure as hell don't like to agree to restrictive EULA's, type in CD keys, give up my first born, "Activate" Windows, WGA, WGA notifications, and all that kind of stuff. Software piracy and stealing is a little different. Like when you steal something, you usually get something, and the owner loose something. In software piracy, its more like you get something, without paying for it, but the owner don't loose anything. Probably alot of people who eg. download movies wouldn't go out to the cinema and watch them or buy the DVD if it wasn't possible for them to download it. It is against the law (in most countries). But about being wrong, that depends on how you look at it. Example with music and movies, it is illegal to download a movie or song that is 30 years old, but I don't think it is wrong, because things like movies and music are not just products to be sold, they are culture too. Example, if I downloaded Doom, I don't think it would be wrong, that game is a classic, its culture. If I download Elvis, I don't think that would be wrong. About the Mac's, yes there shouldn't be any compatibility issues, but I think Apple likes vendor lock-in. I don't find it pretty cool. I think that is something that should be obvious that it should work, it should be expected to work. No matter what computer you use, people should be allowed to change whatever software they want on it to whatever software they want. Mac Mini is a x86, so sure as hell it should be possible to just about anything is for the x86.
  3. Most IM clients suck, when you use a service, you are often forced to use the client of that service provider since the protocol usually is closed and there are no specifications, RFC's or technical documentation and the client is usually big, bloated and full of useless features geared towards the masses. There are some good IM clients though, I like the light-weight multi-protocol ones that can be extended via plugins. Such as Miranda IM which is my favourite IM client. Most IM networks now allow you to go "invisible" or just appear to be offline for certain users you choose.
  4. Yes, that WGA thing is pretty creepy. Got rid of it. Also used RemoveWGA just in case and read some guide about how to remove it manually.
  5. I have tried it, and I liked it.
  6. Yes, it is safe to delete IIS log files. They are just log files for IIS (Internet Information Server) which most regular people don't have. And nobody sane would use IIS anyways since Apache exists.
  7. This is an old topic, heh. Google Talk is great, it is bridged with the Jabber network. So you can use Google Talk, Miranda IM, Gaim, Kopete, Adium X, etc to chat with other people. The protocol is XMPP (Jabber protocol), which is an open protocol based upon XML. There exists libraries and stuff for it, so its easy to code clients, bots, etc for Jabber. It also bridges with AOL, so you can chat with all people that use AOL Instant Messenger.
  8. I use regular file deletion, not the secure deletion mode. You only need to use the secure deletion mode if you're paranoid. Yes with regular file deletion, files may still be recoverable.
  9. The anti-piracy is once again causing problem for the legitimate users. You bought Windows for alot of money, you had to agree to the restrictive EULA and to give up your first born son, you had to type in the CD keys, you had to "Activate" Windows, and yet WGA causes problems with you.
  10. It doesn't spread on Jabber networks either.
  11. Yes, that is the problem with ClamWin, it is so slow. Last time I runned it, I made it scan only .exe and .dll files. So, whats so good about Comodo Firewall?
  12. I wouldn't use something that has been labeled as rouge-antispyware even if supposedly have come clean.
  13. My file archiver of choice is 7-Zip.
  14. Mama used to tell me that AOL is the devil.
  15. Symantec and McAfee have a business model centered around the insecurity of another product. Lately Symantec and McAfee have been crying and speaking loud, they're upset at Microsoft.
  16. 7.5 without ever being a 7.0, 6.0 or even 5.0 lol
  17. Latest ewido was like 4.0 and there never was any AVG Anti-Spyware before. "Lets put the version at 7.5 it will look like its been around and done the test of time". "Try new Anti-spyware 125.8!"
  18. Maybe you stored the file in the temp folder? It is a good idea to keep backup of important documents and data.
  19. Nope. But steak contains much proteins which are good for the musculature.
  20. I heard it is recommended that you drink 2 litres of water everyday. Sleep 8-10 hours. Eat fruits and vegetables!

I don't think you need to register. I am allergic to registration.
  22. I think I recall reading on the site it doesn't need a license at all. Now it says it needs a license, but it is free for life time. I also see that it has skins. An ugly skin! Also, it reminds me of Norton Antivirus. I defiantly wont try it out.
