Thank You all for your answers. Yes, I do use secure file cleaning. .I do have it clean..all apps....etc. I will stick with the one I have. I really don't think it cleans more. and I am using windows XP. So, I sure the program has a lot of useless stuff, since now it cleans Vista ...and newer versions of Windows...Thanks.....I does a great cleaning job. And it faster. Peace...Out. Glen.

Hello all .....I have been using ccleaner for over 10 years....I am using version....3.25.1872 right now. I installed a newer version a couple of months ago, but, I found it runs like 3 time slower than, 3.25.1872. Why is this. or did I just download a bad version of it....best regards...Glen

Thank you....it is not ccleaner I don't trust. but, I am sure windows creators, wish you didn't exist....Ie....microsoft expansive use of cookies to spy on you. Most folk don't even realize this. So, I was really wondering CCleaner was going corporate....and a death of an era.... No matter, thanks for the info and I have and will keep updating. I know you improve the look of the cleaner, but i was upset at the loss of cookie control, ccleaner used to have.....I guess now , firefox does that for me. But, not opera or IE. Hope I am making sense.....sorry. Thanks for your response. Glen

I was wondering with so many ccleaner updates lately, are the all in intended for the new Windows 7 release? I am running windows Xp. Should I stick with a pre vista version of ccleaner and which one is the most stable for windows XP. Thank You Glen

Thank You. You are right, I just can back to report it is the IE 8 suggested files. I thank you very much. It was bothering me because I have used ccleaner for years. Thanks for the welcome......Glen

After running the ccleaner and I ran it again. It always showed 0.00 bytes....Now, it says 5mb (one file). And does not delete, I could run cleaner all day over and over and it would show the same thing. 5mb...its says they are deleted but, if you run ccleaner again. there it is again...I am running windows xp media center sp 2. No I will not install service pack 3. It blocks stuff you could do in service pack 2 ie dvd creation and burning. ps. Says its a temp ie file. Not sure if ccleaner is aware that, microsoft may have created something so, ccleaner will not delete (microsoft legal spyware) ie files. Anyone know maybe? whats up? thanks

I RAN THE DEFRAGGLER.......SEEMED TO DO A GOOD JOB, THE NEXT DAY....I HAD REMOVED SOME FILES...ADD SOME....RAN THE DEFRAGGLER AGAIN......TO SEE IF DID THE JOB THE FIRST TIME AND SIMPLY DEFRAG. (PENTIUM 2.82 GIG V PROCESSOR 1GIG RAM RUNNING XP.) AGAIN IT TOOK FOREVER AND I CANCELLED......DOING THE REST OF THE JOB AND REMOVED THE PROGRAM FROM THE COMPUTER....IT JUST TAKE TOO LONG.... IS THIS NORMAL??? PS SORRY FOR THE ALL CAPS.....NEED TO READ WHAT I AM TYPING..... THANKS GLEN

I am not a computer expert.....but, have learned from trial and error. Use the cleaner don't analyze just run cleaner. it is totally safe, you will not lose any programs. CCleaner used to be called Crap Cleaner and that is what it does. cleans the crap out of your computer. Leave all the boxes checked as when you first installed it and you will have no worries.......After you run the cleaner.....click on the blue cube (with mini cubes) icon and click on scan for issues......if the"re are any issues.....click on fix selected issues.......then fix all issues.....when pop up says are you sure? CLICK YES with confidence.....NO WORRIES....NOW RESTART COMPUTER.....IT SHOULD RUN FASTER. END OF BEGINNING LESSON. GLEN PS I HAVE DONE THIS FOR SEVERAL FRIENDS MYSELF AND I ALWAYS MADE THEIR COMPUTER RUN FASTER....

HI EVERYONE....I'M NEW BUT, HAVE USED CCleaner FOR 2 YEARS.......I THINK IT IS JUST GREAT. MY QUESTION IS .......I USE IT VERY OFTEN TO CLEAR COOKIES.........AND OTHER DATA. I USE SECURE DELETION...3 PASSES.....DOES USE OF THE CLEANER OFTEN, WEAR OUT YOUR HARD DRIVE, SINCE IT WORKS SO FAST....OR AM I WORRYING FOR NO REASON......PLEASE HELP GLEN
