Thanks, but I'm really a noob at this. In the java control panel, there is no place I can see to change this. Also, what does "%" mean? would I do start/run %userprofile%\local settings\temp? I don't see '%userprofile%' in windows explorer. What am I looking for in these files? Thanks and I apologize for not being so knowledgeable about this.

Anybody know anything about Java? My problems is: The default directory for the log files is document and settings\username\local settings\temp. Instead, my log files are going to windows\temp. ccleaner shows this as java files that are in windows\temp. How can I change this? Or, is this a windows problem? I use Opera as the default browser and I do keep some cookies. The cookies that wouldn't delete were both IE and Opera cookies. The Opera cookies were not ones I elected to keep. The cookies I elect to keep in Opera always show up in the 'cookies to delete' column and never go away when I clean, which is normal, it's always been that way. It's the cookies OTHER than the one I want to keep that I accumulate while surfing with Opera that won't go away. And, it's also the cookies I get with IE. As I said, version 2.33 works fine and I only had the problem when I updated to version 2.34. I'm back to version 2.33 and will keep using that for now. Thanks.

Thanks, maybe I'll try that. I'm using version 2.33 now and it works perfectly, version 2.34 does not. No information was requested from me specifically, that was another poster. If this is a problem, I'd like to know an official solution or if a fix is in the works in the next version. I run two computers and both have the same issue. xp home sp3

So.... Any new info on this? Just to clarify, in version 2.34, cookies in the 'to be deleted' column remain after a scan and clean. In version 2.33 they are gone after a scan and clean. I use Opera 10.6 and in Opera, you can decide which cookies to keep and they stay in the 'to be deleted column' in ccleaner which is like it always has been. Version 2.34 of ccleaner is different. Just wondering...

EDIT: I think this is definitely a version problem. Version 2.33 works flawlessly.

Similar problem here too. Cookies listed in the delete column are still there after a clean I'm using Opera 10.60 and have some cookies that I want to keep and they are there, but unlike the previous version of ccleaner, the unwanted cookies stay listed even though I deleted the history and cookies in internet options. I even rebooted and they are still there. xp home sp3

DennisD, Thanks, that probably is it. After cleaning up from my infection, it was recommended to get the latest flash, which I did through Opera. The other user on these computers uses IE, but it hasn't asked for the plugin yet so it has not been installed. I was just alarmed at all the tracking flash cookies SAS found and want an easy way to keep them off even if they are probably benign. Thanks.

Adobe flash does not show up in ccleaner though. Applications/multimedia/adobe flash. I use Opera 10.6 and win xp sp3

I recently had an infection which I cleared up and one of the tools I used was SAS which detected a lot of cookies: Adobe Flash Tracking Cookies. How can I make ccleaner detect these? Adobe Flash does not show up in applications. Thank you.

Not so with Opera. Opera 10.51 IS my default browser. When I update through the ccleaner program, Opera opens to my home page, then right away, IE opens and goes to the ccleaner web site. ccleaner is the only program I have that does this. Something weird going on here and I don't know if it is an Opera problem or a ccleaner issue.

I've noticed on the last two updates, for me at least, that when it automatically goes for the new update (when available), Internet Explorer opens up, not my Opera which I have set as default browser. Opera opens up first, then immediately, IE opens to the ccleaner website. I'm using Opera 10.51. I don't know if it is an Opera problem, or if ccleaner some how defaults to IE when updating. Can anyone help or explain? Thank you.

My bad, I see it now. Too bad you can't isolate it and clean SEPARATELY from the rest.

This new version is supposed to remove temporary downloads from Opera, I don't see where it is doing this. Am I missing something? How do I select this? Thank you.

Question: When you choose to uninstall a program in ccleaner, does it just invoke the program's uninstall routine (the program you are trying to uninstall), or does ccleaner have its own uninstall routine or do something additional, like check for registry entrys and empty directories? Thanks

+1 on the Opera. I tossed FF a few versions ago. No problems what so ever with Opera. IE8 seems a tad faster, but I'm keeping Opera as my default browser and version 10 looks to be better.

I'm probably the dummy. It just sounded to me like there would be a seperate catagory like cookies, for example, but apparanly not and like you say, the URLs are in the history. I didn't undrstand correctly. Looking at the analysis, I see it now.
