  1. Softpedia's discounts and giveaways page is back for this year's Christmas. They've got quite a few discounts including some free programs. The only one that really caught my eye was this Returnil giveaway: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/Returnil-System-Safe-Pro.shtml Seems like a nice one, if you like using things like Returnil or Powershadow.
  2. I wish everyone on this forum very happy holidays. Have fun and be safe.
  3. There's also the issue of Opera not working properly with half the websites I visit and need to use.
  4. Don't know about you guys, but it seems to take forever to load and close for me. Not the snappy instant load and instant close it used to be.
  5. Try taking a look at these two links: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprosecurity/thread/90c3202c-448b-42b7-acf7-dab8dba7b000 http://www.sevenforums.com/installation-setup/124759-cant-open-gpedit-msc-services-msc-because-activex.html In both of those threads, people with the same problem as yours get it fixed.
  6. Nice, you managed to beat DennisD to the topic. Speaking of which, I haven't seen him around in some time; hope he's okay.
  7. Hey Mudd, I wish you a very happy birthday, with hopes for many more in the future.
  8. Lol, this is hilarious. I've bookmarked it for future reference.
  9. Gobble... gobble gobble gobble. Gobble gobble.
  10. Watched the premiere episode last night, and it was okay. Certainly didn't have the same charm as the guys in Top Gear UK have, but the first test was pretty good and the camera angles were shot decently enough. However, you can't really compare this first episode to the latest episode of TopGear UK, since they have had years to improve. For a first episode, I think it was pretty good and maybe they'll develop the charm and chemistry the TopGear UK guys have.
  11. However, you can make an account on it, to which you can then upload things.
  12. MultiUpload.com is my favorite. As far as I know, there aren't any limits to the file size you can upload, or if you have a limited amount of space etc. You can upload multiple files onto it at the same time, and it even comes with a free batch upload manager that you can download and install to upload files directly from your computer. I don't know if it would fit all of your needs, but hey, it works for me.
  13. Try Crush the Castle 2. Even tougher but more fun sequel.
  14. Haha, thanks Hazel. Looks like a fun game, since I like virtually blowing things up.
  15. I thought it was a person before zooming in!
  16. Yeah, I agree with Aethec. Symantec and the other big pay-for av companies should just be quiet, since this av isn't one that you have to pay for.
  17. I personally dislike the ribbon interface. I liked being able to have everything I needed in one area, rather than having to switch to a different tab each time I wanted to do something different (the ribbon interface is more user friendly though). Latest version of LibreOffice is nice too, they've been doing some serious work changing the images for buttons and everything. Overall it looks quite different from OOo.
  18. One key fact you should note is that Spyware Blaster is NOT an antivirus or antimalware program. It just prevents you from being infected in the first place by blocking loads of sites that contain malware. It's designed to be installed alongside your current AV, not as a replacement for it.
  19. I know, doesn't it? The same 2 bars at top and bot. It's not Linux distro though, using it for Windows.
  20. I've been trying out SharpEnviro recently, and I'm loving it. It's an amazing Windows shell replacement, and it's working without any flaws here. Here's my new SharpEnviro desktop: I've modified a few things, so that is not exactly how it looks.
  21. Happy Birthday LuLu, and nice desktop.
  22. I'm using Opera 11 alpha right now, and I have to say, it's the fastest browser I've used so far. Leaves all the other ones I've tested (IE9, latest Minefield, latest Chromium, latest Maxthon) behind in the dust. I also like the new direction they are taking with extensions. I hated their old widgets method where the widgets were literally whole programs that ran separately from the browser. Extensions are much more convenient (and Chrome-like for that matter).
  23. I'm buying the Sansa Sandisk Fuze which supports FLAC and Ogg Vorbis at a much cheaper price than the Ipod and is better than the Ipod overall. How would I tag the files with Foobar, as that is my music player right now.
