  1. I'd never thought I'd do this, but I've actually started to use IE now. I uninstalled FF Beta 11 and switched to IE9. It definitely works faster than FF Beta 11. Interface looks nice and minimalistic, and everything is working great. Now if only there was some sort of css style fixer that would remove the gaping holes that the MVPS hosts file leaves on websites with ads.

  2. I apologise for the double post, but I just had to ask this question about "Simple Adblock". What does this mean:

The Free and Pro version includes the same features, but the free version is limited to blocking 100 adrequests per day. When installing the Free version there is a 30 day trial period, where the adblock limit is removed.

That's quoted from the website of Simple Adblock itself--does that 100 limit mean that Simple Adblock will only block 100 ads per day if you're using the free version? Because that just seems stupid if that is the case.

  3. I just installed this on my win 7 64bit system.

I have to say that I'm really impressed with it. Its super fast(feels noticably faster than firefox), but its missing two killer features: adblock plus and spell checking.

I really like the interface and its blazing fast, but without those its a no go for me. (and I've gotten pretty tired of firefox)

In fact, it is definitely noticeably faster than Firefox. I ran a Peacekeeper test with the latest versions of both browsers, and these were the results (very startling):

    Firefox 4 Beta 11: 2870.

    Internet Explorer 9 RC1: 3357.

That's an impressive improvement over Firefox.

Here's a set of result screenshots:

I don't know about you guys, but these results are quite convincing.

  4. Testing this out right now, blazing fast. Good work FF.

Correction: Testing this out right now, blazing fast. Good work FX (this just doesn't feel right).

  5. Thanx:)

Patching the files is pretty easy, just run uxtheme patcher (http://deepxw.blogspot.com/2008/11/universal-theme-patcher.html) and patch the 3 files and reboot.

Just make sure you run the correct exe for your system, 32 or 64 bit.

Then you place the themefile and the blend folder in the themes folder inside the recource folder in windows folder..just like you did in xp.

To change startorb just run this little awesome tool (http://www.door2windows.com/windows-7-start-button-changer-change-your-windows-7-start-button-with-one-click/)

Thanks. I'm tending to shy away from that specific UXTheme Patcher, because if you read the comments section... many, many people are having problems with it, and the creator hasn't fixed the bugs yet. In the instructions that were on DeviantART for the Blend 2.0 theme, it said to take ownership of some system file and replace it with a system file from the theme... does not doing that affect the theme in any way, like change its appearance or anything like that?

  6. Nice desktops as usual Mr.Brownstone. I'm wondering, how do you install new visual styles in Windows 7? It was very easy in Windows XP, but it seems much more complicated in Windows 7, with a lot more system file replacing to do. More specifically, how do you install the Blend 2.0 theme? The instructions on the DeviantART page of the theme don't help much.

  7. Just plain sandwich making cheese, nothing elaborate.;) Although I do like the premium sandwich cheese sold by ALDI.

Me too. The ALDI store just recently opened in my area, and all of their food seems to be of high quality.

  8. Grocery list.:) I'll add bologna and cheese to the list because plain bread alone is too boring, and since milk gives me gas I'll opt for lemonade.

What type of cheese? I like provelon, or however you spell it. Sorry to go so off topic. :D

  9. All very suggestive comments it's just a pity there's no actual hard facts to back up the claims and I'm not in the slightest convinced.

One thing is for sure if you going to do proper impartial scientific research you need to get your data and facts right first which clear isn't the case as the following pages would show:

I guess only time will tell if we are ultimately doomed with another ice age or more frequent hot summers.

I'm confused as to what you are trying to prove. Your quote seems to suggest that you are saying global warming isn't caused by humans, and your links seem to suggest that global warming doesn't exist at all (the second link makes some rather extravagant claims which then it debunks; I wonder if the website purposely came up with those questions)? :P

Now, here are some links from my research:

With the quote in my previous post: I'm not trying to say that global warming is entirely the fault of humans, I'm just saying that humans have contributed to it. ;) As to the next ice age issue; global warming will probably stop in a few hundred years, and the next ice age is supposed to come in a few thousand years.

  10. If we were to go into another ice age or worse Snowball Earth the result would be the Atlantic Ocean flow getting mucked up. Of course global warming enthusiasts claim that also because of the melting arctics, however it's also a natural course of things, then there's the Earth's path around the sun which over time can increase by 3 million or so miles and cause very long ice age and snowball Earth.

What people have to realize is that global warming isn't just something that suddenly occurs in a day or two and causes huge noticeable effects instantly. It gradually occurs over the years, and though Earth's natural climatic shifts still occur, the gradual temperature increase will increase the temperature of the lowest of the climatic shifts ever so slightly as time passes and we still continue to pollute the world.

  11. I believe all this snow may be a result of global warming. Why? Simply put: As temperature rises throughout the world, more water will evaporate and turn into water vapor. Then, when this water vapor reaches land, it forms even bigger storms than usual, combining with what's already there.

And yes, I've been getting feet of snow in MA too.

  12. I love Parody commercials. ;)

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There's a Parody version by mastereddie92, it's a too rude to post here so you'll have to go search for it.

Btw: do people really buy this kind of stuff??

    Richard S.

Unfortunately, yes. Some people just buy whatever they see on TV.

  13. Icedrake, just post the YouTube link in a reply, for example to do this post I just copied and pasted the link from YouTube into here which looked like:

Thanks Capman, it worked perfectly. I knew I was trying to be too technical, didn't realize it was that simple.
