  1. Hi, first thanks for CCleaner. It is miraculous and I have used it for years and I have donated at least once. I do wish it did not eliminate my "recent files" for microsoft word and excel and other programs. These are important to me. Is there a way to make CCleaner not do this? Thanks a lot. Jim Kroger
  2. Thanks much for the reply. I followed your suggestions, and also unchecked "windows log files". Hope that works. It's not actually just the folder express, it's Microsoft Word, Excel, Acrobat, and lots of programs that show you a list of recent documents in the File menu, so you can easily open recently worked-on documents. All that history is all gone once I run CCleaner. Folder Express is pretty uncommon but I'd think lots of people must have the problem with Word and Excel...? Thanks again, I'll see how that goes. Jim
  3. Thanks everyone. Sorry I got so excited. Sometimes you can feel pretty dependent on various hardware and software, but pretty helpless when things go wrong, and get pretty freaked out if you can't find help. I'm glad this board is active and thanks for responding to me. I'll try to go back and find that message in response to my earlier question. Jim
  4. Any program that keeps a list of recently opened files loses that info when I run CCleaner. Is this software supported? Can one get help? JK
  5. How does one get help? CCleaner is causing a problem for me, but I'd like to work it out so I don't have to give up CCleaner. It seems as if the authors of it have abandoned supporting it. I asked a question here but no replies. When you click on their support form it says don't use this form, go here, which takes you to this forum, where I have not gotten help even though my msg was viewed more than 50 times, so the authors are not attending to this forum. So CCleaner is unsupported? Shouldn't it say that on all websites that carry it? Sorry but I'm very frustrated.
  6. I use a shareware program called folder express, which allows me to open recently visited folders. This is my main navigation tool for years now. CCleaner must be emptying something out or deleting something, probably some kind of history. But I don't know what, nor how to figure it out. Does anybody know how Windows keeps track of where it's been? I don't know if it's something in Folder Express getting deleted, or in Windows, that is causing the problem.... Thanks for any help, Jim
