  1. It does save all entries. But I can see where you would be in doubt since you have to right click a single item.
  2. The icon issue I've experienced several times in the past. Deleting the icon cache usually solves the problem. If you were to rename your favicon to anything else, you'll see that it will display properly. Because an icon with the new name would not have been previously cached. The file is located here: %LocalAppData%\IconCache.db Some times a reboot is required after deleting the file. Windows will generate a new cache file automatically. If your running XP you could use the free MS Tweak UI program to rebuild the cache. Otherwise removing the file normaly works just fine. - - For adding programs see this document: http://docs.piriform.com/ccleaner/advanced...leaner-to-clean After you look that over feel free to ask any questions. It will make it easier for you to carry out the steps that other forum users provide after you've been acquainted with the overall procedure. If that makes sense.
  3. It might be easier if when saving the log file you save it to your desktop. It will be much easier to find. Also after saving it from CC, it should appear in the Start menu under the Recent Items menu.
  4. Sounds like a good idea. Here are the items I have... 5. Well, luckily it was only a suggestion I tend to be more in favor of peoples suggestions realizing that most never come to pass. Look what it took to get wiping free space implemented.
  6. For informational purposes I see no problem. I didnt have the notion of deleting/cleaning such files and folders. CC has a startup tool. Not something you need on a daily basis, Or even weekly. But its there in the mean time. If you want/need the tool you use it. If not, you ignore it. As for bloat, 30 lines of code at 20 kb to display such info is nothing to worry about. On that note, I doubt we would see such functionality anyway. To be realistic. But theres nothing wrong with hope either.
  7. That would be useful. Even if CC implemented a simple top 10 largest files/folders.
  8. Im almost certain if you were to add an exclusion for the registry key, that it wouldnt happen again. The exclusion overrides any option in the cleaner.
  9. It would be great if CC had JumpList support. Pin CC to the task bar and add items such as Run Cleaner, Scan Registry etc. I made a concept image (attached) for a visual.
  10. In your screenshot are all those apps 'recently used' then? Have you tried unchecking all items in CC and then check one item, clean and repeat until the items are removed from the start panel? Are you using the registry cleaner?
  11. Is it the same Windows Error Report file each day and CC isnt removing it? Otherwise looks like something is causing FF to crash and generate a WER. Have you looked at Problems & Solutions to review the details of the crash?
  12. Those items are stored under: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StartPage2\ProgramsCacheSMP But so far I havent been able to get CC to remove the pinned items. I can do it manualy in regedit. If we cant figure out which option is removing that key we can add an exclusion rule in CC (options>exclude>add registry).
  13. Which items are being removed from the start menu that you would like to retain? Theres Run, Recent Docs, Recently used programs etc. In the mean time here are the items that will affect the start menu that I know of... Recent Documents, Run, Other Explorer MRU's and Taskbar Jump Lists
  14. Try looking over this article and see if it helps. It will allow you to run CC with the Auto switch and bypass UAC prompts using Task Scheduler. http://www.petri.co.il/bypass-uac-using-desktop-shortcut.htm Works for Vista and Win7
  15. Run CCleaner and perform a registry scan. But dont fix the items. Right click in the list of problems found and select 'save to text file'. You can either post the file here so we can see whats being removed or you can open the text file, select all, copy and paste it into a reply. Which ever is easier for ya. Seems like when CC removes the registry item(s) that its breaking a feature set of Internet Explorer. A plug-in/addon would be my first guess.
  16. Have you tried unchecking "Taskbar Jump Lists" from the Windows Explorer section of the cleaner?
  17. In your situation, re-installing the sound driver may be the easiest/safest way to go.
  18. Sorry for the late reply. After disabling the index service and turning off indexing for your drives, the files should be removed automaticly. I remember reading that some where but have never tried it myself. See the 'Disable Indexing on Drives' section of that page. Otherwise, I've never removed the index files so I couldnt say if it is safe or not. So long as you dont remove supporting files and only the indexes I dont see a problem.
  19. All of those files are related to Vista's instant search feature (ie from the Start menu and Windows Explorer). These files are indexes of files/contents specified to be indexed. See this page to disable it: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/09/17/d...dexing-service/
  20. I just keep any cookie that has live.com and I can access all live services.
  21. Vista's thumbnail cache is located under: %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer Even if you take ownership of the files you still cant delete them. The diskcleanup tool has an option in there to delete the thumb cache files (seems to work as I just tested it).
  22. Im happy to report in v2.23.993 that the bug has been fixed. Huge thanks!
  23. I found a MS KB article that may help you. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319114
  24. Does your cookies to keep list in CC get wiped out after cleaning? Or does it remain (even though the cookies are removed)? This may help the developers in determining the problem.
  25. Im running 2.22.968 and using IE8 and dont have the problem. Which browser and OS are you using? Are you saving your settings to INI (CC, Options, Advanced)?
