  1. You have the latest version already. It was released 08 Jun 2016.
  2. Can you try an uninstall with a RESTART of your machine afterwards. Do you have any problems like this with any other software? What other security type software do you run apart from Windows Defender? Have you altered any settings in Windows Defender? What happens if you do an install of the Slim Build and don't put a tick in 'release notes' box? (It's last in the list on the Builds page)
  3. @Figaro14 Yours is the first post that has been added to this thread for 3 years. CCleaner doesn't destroy computers as far as I know. I've been using it for almost 15 years, however I don't use the registry cleaner now as Windows 10 doesn't need it (and this function may be hidden in a future update to CCleaner)

  5. Can you give a few more details such as which operating system you use. What security software you run. Was this updated from a previous CCleaner version.. if yes, how?

  7. I don't think many people will click on your attachment of an executable file. It serves no purpose to attach that anyway. Instead we need to know what operating system you have. What security software (antivirus) you use. Was this offered to you as an update or did you buy it? If you bought it, where did you buy it from?   9. You really should only use one antivirus. Is your AV up to date ?

Can I just ask to make sure that when you select those cookies you are then sending them across to the ''cookies to keep'' list by highlighting one, and clicking on the right-arrow in the middle of the page to send it over to the 'cookies to keep' list (and then same with the other 2 ones you mention.)   14. I cannot see CCleaner mentioned in your screenshot. It mentions 'some security software' CCleaner is NOT security software. What antivirus do you use and what other security software do you use e.g Malwarebytes.

  17. Does the same thing happen if you use a DVD instead of a USB ? (just trying some ideas)
  18. Open CCleaner. Select Options. Select Updates. Select perform updates manually.
  19. You report on this has been sent to admins by one of the other mods.
