  1. hi gibradford, i'm running the 7.5.1 version of Outpost Security Suite, which has the same firewall component as the firewall only version. i can run speccy without any problems. i also do not find a spc.dll file anywhere on my pc. i'm running win7 ultimate x64 & the x64 version of speccy. i have set it to 'run as administrator' in it's compatibility properties for the speccy.exe and speccy64.exe files. over on the outpost forum, there is a user (edinod) with the same problem that we are trying to help, see this thread, starting around post no. 10. (i'm one of the moderators there)
  2. that doesn't answer the question, it asks another. i also cannot delete firefox cookies. i have adobe flash ticked to answer ident's query. if firefox is running the 'cookies to delete' box is empty. if firefox is not running, it has 110 cookies in it. if i run ccleaner with firefox cookies ticked it says it has deleted those 110 cookies, if i run ccleaner again it does not find any cookies. however if i start firefox (using a blank home page, so it does NOT load any site thus needing, and making, no cookies) then exit firefox and go back to ccleaner, the same 110 cookies are listed in the cookies to delete. i also tried running the comapct databases to see if it was an sqlite glitch. cookies are NOT deleted. i am using win7 ultimate x64, firefox 3.6.5pre, and the current ccleaner 2.31.1153 edited: after doing some more firefox research i find there are 'permanent' cookies you cannot delete. the ones on my pc appear to be opt-out cookies to handle advertising and marketing research spyware cookies. i have added those to my keep list, and will see how ccleaner handles the others.
  3. i have the same or similar problem, ccleaner 2.26.1050, win7 x64 ultimate if firefox/mozilla is set to delete cookies in 'applications', it deletes ALL cookies, including the ones i said not to delete in the options, if i untick the firefox cookies box in applications, it does not delete ANY cookies. sometimes no firefox cookies show up after a deletion, then suddenly all are listed. this just happened to me again, was showing only three cookies in options in left panel. ticked 'cookies' in applications, now shows 146 cookies. if i untick the cookies in applications for firefox, the list goes back to three (for ie). in any case, the cookies i selected to keep are also deleted. edited: OK, figured it out cookies only appear in the left cookie options box if you have ticked the cookies box for the respective browser in the windows/appliction settings. you can then move the keepers to the right (i found more of my keepers duplicated in the left list but with www. prefixes, re-added them on the right & they did not get deleted next run.) i would have expected ALL cookies to appear in the left box no matter what the settings in the windows/application section.
  4. when running CCleaner 2 beta build 475, it initially worked OK, but has now started to display the (image attached below) error while halfway thru the cleaning cycle. it does this when run at startup or when run manually. reinstallation on it's own does not help. reinstalling the old 1.x then reinstalling 2 beta does work for a couple of days (and thru a few reboot cycles) before the error happens again. system is a p4e-3ghz, 1.5 gb ram, via chipset, 2 sata drives, ati 9700 pro video card, windows xp pro wi. all updates.
