  1. Yep I only require for it to accept the unit place calculation and not the decimal point ( coz I'm trying to get it to divide the number of days between dates by 14 to get the number of fortnights and arrive at only Wednesdays ... - this being achieved by the start date being a Wednesday..
  2. thanks, all sorted But will definitely try finding out more ..... I tried the substitute ....... as earlier which resulted in 3.214 being displayed as 3.0000214 and then used Round(3.0000214,0) which yeilded '3' just what I was after .... There quite possibly is an easier way around this but lets see if anyone else has to offer any different to whats suggested many thanks for your help Truly appreciate!! cheers bud
  3. this is my last resort! sorry tried finding answers to this one but to no avail! I'm trying to get EXCEL to stop calculating beyond the decimal points but it just won't! It sure displays numbers rounded off to so many decimal points... In a bid to avert that I tried to Substitute( cell value e.g 4.21234556, ".", ".0000") which resulted in 4.000021234556 Now this should suffice for most calculations where I just need the units digit '4' into my calculation and not the rest! but in some cases like '0.000021234556' it creates terrible errors taking into account all the digits after the decimal How do I get it to STOP! Pls........ anyone????????? I'm trying to subtract a given date from a start date = so many days so many days / 14 = so many fortnights ( but I need for those fortnights to be without any decimal value so as to allow dates to be calculated for every WEDNESDAY Or Thursday etc ... Pays day:)) without having to worry about the number of fortnights in the month cheers! in anticipation...
  4. Give 'Quick Media Converter' a try! I've used this software for a few format conversions (although I haven't tried it for exactly the same type as your requirement, but having said that I'm sure it would work well) in the past and has been exceptionally good! <http://www.cocoonsoftware.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=13&Itemid=106>
  5. http://readerszone.com/tips/how-to-create-special-characters-in-windows-xp.html heres a good link for using special characters in Windows Its fun creating your own special characters like your initials, or a little code you might want to affix to your documents etc...
  6. whats a good alternative to Nero? I know quite a few freeware have been mentioned but most of them don't do DVD movies, apart from that whats really important is a quick backup ( update function) which most lack ! I tried the latest CD burner XP and its update function never seems to work!? I need a complete solution, should do DVD/CD authoring, copying, backups, and Updating the backups! so one doesn't have to physically check for new files added to a certain folder and whether or not they're included into the new project... Simply said I would like to remove Nero off my hard disk! too slow, too weighty and quite a resource hog...
  7. Not the most proficient in the above matter but have you tried getting into the BIOS to check if its allowing a system boot from the CD ? as also it could possibly be a motherboard problem.... if not a HDD failure..? but having said that I'd really have to read up on this - its been a while since I attempted the above years ago on a mate's PC.
  8. I use JV16 P/Tools alongwith RegscrubXP and Ccleaner have found JV16's registry cleaner to be not too aggressive and yet very good at what it does, it has in the past found entries which neither of the other two have and this combination of software use has kept my registry very tidy!
  9. only if people asked for SAS to include command line parameters! its about time............ MBAM to add CLP for updates!
  10. You'd find stuff out of your desktop onto your desk! too messy that eh?
  11. well ...... I guess its Murphy's Law territory for the brave non-precuatious few...
  12. Avast is more of a Pure Scanner / deleter as opposed to a complete anti-virus suite is what I surmise... I haven't used Avira and wonder whether I should switch to Avira ...? any suggestons?
  13. though whats NetQin like ? anybody used or uses it ? any issues with any of its features? I require one which is a freeware in all respects (includes updates)
  14. could anyone pls suggest a good stable, lightweight Freeware anti-virus or security suite for mobile phones ? I need one for a Nokia E63 ( Symbian S60 OS ) open to freeware that have both Symbian and Windows mobile 6.0 platforms ... What other security measures or maintenance ( the likes of CCleaner ) could be used on cell phones pls?
  15. Whats a good freeware for Mobile phone security - Antivirus , Antimalware/spyware ( especially for Nokia E63 - Symbian S60 OS )
  16. Avast doesn't seem to have an option to 'Heal File/s' on detection of an infection.... am I missing something here coz I haven't come across it apart from its suggestions to 'move to virus vault' and 'delete'
  17. How on earth did you link 'Advanced Member' in context of this forum to the said software/game ??? some versions require 'Moderators'(no pun intended).... - just kidd'n
  18. would there be a site which would have phone simulation like Sony Ericsson does for most of its phones... Just such a great feature in today's faceless world..... you get to actually try most features at home before you go shopping and once there you can actually check out the speed and flow of its form.. Moreover I was looking at contributions in terms of what phone people used and why they chose that particular phone .... the nitty gritty stuff.. NOMINATE your BEST PHONE!
  19. thanks! the very basic and most important feature of just such a website namely 'Phone Finder' does not work ! One can always check websites of every phone manufacturer and go through every phone available on the market but by then I should think the phone would come obsolete....
  20. Hi guys, Wondering if you guys can suggest a great phone... (needn't be the most expensive though - about $300ish..) currently using a Sony Ericsson T-630 (yep! pretty antiquated but a thoroughly robust phone! used it for years but I guess its time to move on...) having said that I'd love to have the similar menu system and perhaps greater menu flexibility! I don't particularly like Nokias! - they are the most flexible when it comes to menus .... simple things like setting an alarm have very fixed rigid and might I add stupid logic to them! could anybody suggest a good phone with T-630 like menu system, great organiser, quick software, great pics / cam/ video, internet/email & WLAN (wifi) , HSPDA pls.... and expandable storage, good talk/standby times, good quality overall and great value for money... I'm not into using mobile phones as IPods ! or media machines ...- thats one crazy thing I'd stay well and truly clear off ( don't mind if its got a player and like but not buying a phone specifically for its media capabilities ...) all your suggestions and help most appreciated...
  21. whats your first choice Abu?
  22. Razz, at the outset a big Congrats! to you... Pardon my ignorance here but just curious to know whether your software merely launches other freeware or actually executes them to completion and closure? on the weekly/monthly scheduled basis? The reason I ask this, is; I use Malwarebytes' anti-malware, Spybot and Ccleaner in addition to super-antispyware and a few other such programs which I have been able to put together in one single batch file for a full or quick clean ( all of them work apart from Super antispyware - as you'd be aware of the problems it tends to pose). As far as antimalware is concerned it needs to be updated manually prior to using it, as its auto-update does not work for the basic freeware version ( only available in its Professional version ) - keeping this in perspective I was wondering if your program could automate such tasks and make maintenance issues a lot less hassle free? Further, If I may; did you have your software copy-righted for use of the product name which you could further develop on in the near future... All the very best to you in your future endeavours and I hope you keep up the great work! Regards Tomcat
  23. I found no traces that couldn't be removed by using Regedit and CCleaner I did even try my favourite 'JV16 Power Tool's' registry cleaner... Although Comodo did leave traces in the registry and as such isn't the best (cleanest) of uninstalls you'd expect from a System Cleaner, I haven't found any persistent registry traces..
  24. well as far as its being " too aggressive" - it didn't even clean the very basic temporary internet files (history)! Its quite a stupid design to be frank - one needs to clean the registry, disk and 'Privacy' stuff in stages and it does show a whole lot of files its cleaned and seems to miss out very basic ones! Wait till you uninstall it ! it can't even execute a clean un-install!
