  1. Like with everything else, its a mindless backward step!

I hate to move on from my Office XP!! truly the new versions are pathetic, most of the useful features gone, and replaced by frivolities! my programs written in VBA6 needed much changes to be useable by others using the later VBA7, libraries have been replaced by fancy stuff and the hard core features removed... I am truly disgusted in MS

  2. Whatever happended to computing! ?

since win7 ( and I am completely disregarding the fact that Vista was ever introduced), it appears that todays so called computers are mere fancy media machines.. its just absolutely backward!!

  3. for USB Encryption : usbsafeguard or Rohos-mini ( both allow upto 2GB of encryption)

I also use cacls function (USB flash drive must be NTFS) in Run>> cmd to make the containing folder inaccessible & undeletable and leave a shortcut in the root folder! :)

  4. MultiUpload.com is my favorite. As far as I know, there aren't any limits to the file size you can upload, or if you have a limited amount of space etc. You can upload multiple files onto it at the same time, and it even comes with a free batch upload manager that you can download and install to upload files directly from your computer. I don't know if it would fit all of your needs, but hey, it works for me.

good for sharing files, but doesn't allow personal stuff to be uploaded as a cloud storage

  5. Hi people,

I'm on the look out for a secure, online storage site that doesn't have time limitations, has file/folder sharing rights/privileges and allows Folder uploads ( as opposed to individual file uploads)

Storage upto 10GB or more would be great! Should allow unlimited downloads or at least a decent daily quota...

Whats the best?? which services do you avail off?

    cheers

  6. I meddled and removed the extra http:// tomcatonnet99's link now works :D

Sorry guys! yep, I might have overlooked the double http:// ........definitely doesn't provide any browser any more help ;)

  7. USB Flash Security Website

    USB Flash Security Ver 3.3

a good freeware USB Password utility that works free for Flash drives upto 4GB!

(tried other freeware but none that allow mere password lock in addition to optional encryption and none not even Cryptainer LE allows more than 100MB -200MB )

Also tried and use USB Safeguard ( great encryption and folder protection on USB drives) I think this allows encryption for folder size upto 2GB USB Safeguard

and yet to try Folder Guard and its products (sorry haven't checked for it to be a freeware )

  8. If I may (as this isn't a computer software but one for Java enabled phones...

Its got a few limitations of a freeware but overall stoked by 'WE TRAVEL' for GPS phones

    My link

  9. Opera pretty much seems to come with things built in (seems to for me anyway)

As for download managers, I never bother with them.

Oh ok... well, the only reason I use IE7 Pro is for its ability to record text typed which I am easily able to copy paste within a session and another being its Download manager which I use to interrupt a download and continue later... ( as and when required)

also would I need to update the Winappi 2 for CCleaner ?? ( to include the new version of Opera - as the one in the winappi I've got reads... 'Opera 9...'

    cheers

  10. Yes perhaps its about time for me to switch to a new browser ( only ever used the IE, and currently using IE7 with IE7 Pro and Sandboxie)

does Opera allow for the ease of use with sandboxie?? any known issues (installation, uninstallation and daily operations?)

Also I like IE7 Pro for its download manager ( which allows me to interrupt the download and continue later...) does opera have such an inbuilt Download manager atall?

    cheers!

  11. some of the great freeware that have been listed in the 'freeware' section of the forum that could be used with Win7?? Also if we could start categorizing freeware that work in Win 7 environment and a 64 bit environment specific versions as well.... thought it would be a great compilation to have as a ready reference if everybody could maintain the same format one for Win7 32 and Win7 64 ?? Your thoughts / suggestions....

    cheers!

  12. Received an official word from the Malwarebytes' Forum....

the FREE version does NOT support Command Line Parameters anymore, they have "rectified an initial oversight which many free users took advantage of"

Grateful that they've maintained a Free version :)

  13. If you read the help file it's changed "C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe" /minimized /update -silent /scan -full

Many thanks to you all... Really should have looked up the help file but didn't for the life of me think they'd have included command line parameters there

    anyways, appreciate your help

    cheers

  14. so i see once in a while

i'l try resolve your command line

Especially software that I've downloaded a while before I actually installed and used it... :) stuff that I may have got from mates but never got around actually deploying... yep! there are a few!

Having said that I'd have to check whether quick scan does the folders under My Documents\ \....

  15. Are you aware full scan is pretty much pointless??

Well not always, I prefer to run one after a long period of time and as such use a different batch file and combinations of to include Spybot and I wish I could have included SuperAntiVirus but they don't have any command line parameters that I know of....

But I really do wish to get the updated command line parameters for Malwarebytes!

  16. Installing updates has always been erratic! at times it requires a restart and a program restart as well and yet at other times it all happens automatically and seamlessly ...

Funny thing I noticed ... the command line parameters have changed!

    Auto Update now WORKS! yeeeehaaa

Downside?? the damn scan mode doesn't! it automatically shuts down after the update ..

Heres the command line parameter I used for so long:

    "C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe" /minimized /updateshowdialog /fullscanterminate

Can anybody point me to the revised command line parameters pls?

    cheers
