  1. I used it as well for a day and then removed it. Logging into Forums became a problem and the speed of my computer was not increasing at all.
  2. Oh great !!! Stupid I did not see that before !
  3. I think it is a good idea if you can request (optional) to only remove the tracking cookies and not the ones you need to login and/or for your other settings. Adaware is also only removing the tracking cookies and not the other ones. However I don't know wether this is difficult to implement.
  4. Found the solution: I had only one Simon user account on my laptop with admin rights. I created a new one so now I have 2 accounts: Admin and Simon both with admin right. When I log out as Simon and login as Admin I am able to delete the Temporary Internet Files folder of Simon (I used shift-del when removing the folder). Then I have to reboot so XP recreates the folder. And then all problems are over and I can use all tools again who want to empty my temporary internet folder. I assume it had to do with some corrupt files in my temporary internet folder which caused the problem. So this problem has nothing to do with CCleaner. However maybe this story is of use to others.
  5. It probably has to do with this directory: C:\Documents and Settings\Simon\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5" I can not remove the temporary Internet files using Extra Options in IE and I did not succeed using the build-in disk cleaner of XP. They all go on endlessly without removing anything. What can I do? And what is the cause? I tried this command which I found on this forum: CMD /C RMDIR /S "C:\Documents and Settings\Simon\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5" However, the same result ... I also did chkdsk
  6. I tried CCleaner on 2 computers. On one it worked fast and without any problems, however on my laptop it takes a long time (2 hours) and then the program freezes without any error message. When looking at the windows task bar it says the program is not responding. Some background info about my laptop: Besturingssysteem Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition OS Service Pack Service Pack 2 Internet Explorer 6.0.2900.2180 (IE 6.0 SP2) DirectX 4.09.00.0904 (DirectX 9.0c) Moederbord: CPU Type Mobile AMD Athlon XP-A Moederbord Chipset VIA VT8377A Apollo KT400A Systeemgeheugen 512 MB (DDR SDRAM) BIOS Type AMI (05/21/04)
