  1. i think so... maybe at least once a month and after program installation and uninstallation to ensure your registry remains optimized.
  2. ya... it is faster than RegCompact.NET... but RegCompact.NET have better GUI... i think that's all...
  3. RegCompact.NET http://experimentalscene.com/?type=1&id=1 NTREGOPT http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/ tried both... work well...
  4. nah... it is not a bad point but i just prefer a simpler antivirus...
  5. i used norton antivirus 2002, which cames with the purchase of my computer in the past and it is a resource hog... it really slow down my computer when scanning... it is fine in the detection of viruses... but really slow... after my norton antivirus subscription expired, i make a switch to avast home edition... it seems fine, but the 30 days subscription thing is really troublesome... and i dont really like avast... it have too many features... never find anything on my computer... maybe my computer is clean... not long after, i make a switch to BitDefender (i think is the free version)... and this one is the worst... i cannot update the defination of the virus signature... terrible... and windows xp sp2 security does not recognize it... uninstal it right away... and to avg free edition... like it very much... simple, fast and uses very little resources... but heard many people said that avg antivirus free edition only quarantine viruses that it found... not very sure whether this is true... but avg is really nice... this antivirus found 80+ viruses on my friend computer... now, using symantec antivirus corporate edition... not a resource hog... it runs smoothly on my computer... nice antivirus...
  6. i know it will be a bit strange of me asking a startup manager... but i think if CCleaner can have a startup manager, it will be good... it may be due to the msconfig may be a bit difficult to manage... i dont know...
  7. these suggestions come to my mind: 1. a checkbox for removing system restore points? 2. if user select the "automatically clean computer on boot" option, CCleaner will place a system tray icon. the icon will have a similar context menu like the context menu for the recycle bin. 3. remove mru files for all visual studio applications instead of just visual basic? 4. how about photoshop recent open doc. since CCleaner already support paint shop pro? 5. how about registry defragment? 6a. user can update the *.ini file by just clicking the "check for update now..." link? 6b. CCleaner will connnect to the server and check for update. a window will pop up (not launching web browser) and alert user whether is there a new update. if a new update is available, user can save the new update version (similar to powerarchiver updating system). 7. when the program is downloaded and first excuted, CCleaner will prompt the user to specific a directory that CCleaner will backup the registry keys. user can choose to create or use a existing folder, or do it later. then in CCleaner itself, user can change the directory. 8. together with point 7, CCleaner will be able to allow user to choose and delete the registry backups. 9. add a exclusion list for the registry keys for CCleaner to ignore? 10. cleaning for all users in the computer (prefer with admin privilege)? actually i not really sure if these suggestions are they too much or are they even possible... is just that they pop up in and out o fmy mind (maybe i think too much? ).
  8. to do a print screen, you need to find a button/key on your keyboard that say "print screen" or something similar. press it when you want to capture the current screen. then open up a image edition program (microsoft paint for example) and then paste it. save it. hope this help.
