  1. gtk is totally gross in Windows.  It is ugly and out of place, as far as widget sets are concerned.

Both Trillian and GAIM are jabber-capable clients.

GTK isn't bad on a gnome environment such as Ubuntu.

Though I must agree with you it is ugly on windows.

  2. I think if there's a checkmark somewhere to keep it in the tray... or try minimizing it instead of Xing it.. I don't recall.  I tried GAIM a long time ago.

theres a checkmark in a plugin that has to do with windows I think, unsure though.I have it set that way :-)...

Btw, trillian sucks, way to bloated and making an account seems to have more graphics then blanks to fill in...

And gaim supports GTK themes :-) So go get gnome lol.

  3. And aim does not work msn.Aim is for aim. MSN is for msn...

Gaim works with everything it seems :-P.

Note: Gaim has bugs with yahoo accounts it seems...but I really don't care who uses yahoo?, (Not a questian thats sopposed to be answered)

  4. GAIM

    GAIM!!!

Have it on right now. Its really nice, it comes with some default plugins and then theres more you can get. Also its pretty simple and the slandered "default" interface it has selected during the installer is to ugly for you, (was for me) you may want to try "Blue curve" or "Lighthouse blue" those are the other two themes within the installer.

When the login screen pops up, remember to click "Accounts" and add your account which takes 5seconds :-P.

    Later :D

  5. I have to disagree with you DJ. FreeDOS is rubbish. You want Linspire.

    http://www.linspire.com/

I thought of you better TwistedMetal how you could get so corrupt is beyond me. What you really want is Ubuntu. Its based of Debian and uses GNOME a nice thing to use for any Linux newb. And doesn't cost anything unlike crappy Linspire :-D.

Your not a Linux person now are you TwistedMetal :-D

If you hate user friendliness try Slackware, its like sticking needles into you hand, but giving you a lot of control.

  6. I have used EasyCleaner for quite a few years now, it seems to do a fairly decent job of cleaning the registry, amongst other things.

It is a small program written by a guy in Finland, who has written many other apps, and is available from his website below.

    EasyCleaner

No doubt someone will find faults in it, but hey, that is what we are all here for isn't it.

Afraid I will find faults, It casued a few unknown errors for me.I didn't like it that much, may give it a shot again.

  7. May I ask for some one to have a list at the very top with the name, link within the name and a short description for brief viewing, it would be simplistic this way.And if possible listing in categories. Well anyway here are my votes...

    Chatting

    Gaim

Gaim is a multi-protocol instant messaging (IM) client for Linux, BSD, Mac OS X, and Windows. It is compatible with AIM and ICQ (Oscar protocol), MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, IRC, Jabber, Gadu-Gadu, SILC, GroupWise Messenger, and Zephyr networks.

    Notes

*A little buggy, but great for people who use more then one network and doesn't seem as bloated as Trillion.

    Photo Manipulation

    Gimp

GIMP is an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed program for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring.

    Notes

*I don't understand why people think gimp has a step learning curve, for a fact I find it much easier then other program I have used. Its shortcut keys are wonderful and seems to have a well thought out plan. After a tutorial or two you'll be fine!

    Notes

*The best browser in my opinion out there, It seems to be so awesome so cool and just so so great! The themes are easy to edit, and there are so many extensions out there its amazing; pluss they openly say all of the great customizable options; way better then IE in many ways!

    Email Clients

    Thunderbird

Thunderbird makes emailing safer, faster, and easier than ever before with the industry's best implementations of features such as intelligent spam filters, built-in RSS reader, quick search, and much more.

    Notes

*An absolute must; its amazing it has all the of the secuirty features I want for instance OpenPGP encryption and alot of other extensions I love for instance the other one I can't go without Menu Editor And the default junk control is pretty awsome!

  8. Just to note,Eldmann is not me!

I use to act like him a LONG time ago. So he is not a/my alt account!

Please talk to my none existant lawyer for any information :P

Though Eldmann, you could try making things brief and non abusive, thats the CORRECT way to be after all don't be such a markmurdoch [this guy in firefox forums acting as a troll its hallerious]

  9. It bascally tells you alot of stuff about your computer (it seems) all you do is scan and make a log, paste it here; then have Tarun tell you what you should nuke.(Somtimes he finds malware, other times, its just useless crap that like nuking.

  10. Hes a decent bot at least...(IE he dosn't shoot off binary on every post XD)

Whats funny is, theres alot of miss spellings on "his website" though, there isn't a download link for "Internet Cleaning Tool".

    He is a n00b!

    :-)

  11. I hope it isn't to late to post this, but I downloaded this on your recommidation, I must say its wonderful!

    I'm loviing it!

(Notice the I's, now Mcdonalds can't sue XD)

  12. Run issues tab, once a week or after you install/uninstall somthing.

Run the other stuff on there every other day.

You can check the spysweeper's grayed out box; its probably just back ups, though,

backups can be important so you decide for yourself.

How much is it to renew spysweeper ?

  13. I suggest downloading another browser.

Firefox or Opera. Then see if the problem persists; if it does, then... well... you still have an awsome browser now!

    (Firefox recommended)

    Mcaffe & Norton suck!

  14. You'll be amazed that I don't get any spyware (or at least, a few but not that much) anymore, mainly because if anyone has realized it is, if you don't go to a bunch of sites that are indubitably crap, or/and use p2p software, you wouldn't get that much.

I think I got 3 spyware/adware files in the last... month?Mainly because I clean cookies, and almost all spyware I [ever] got was from a cookies.

Just don't download stuff unless its trusted, that simple, don't be a moron and type random crap in your address bar.

And that folks is the best anti spyware tool you'll ever need. :-)

Also, I've tried Spyware Doctor, unimpressed.

(I know the computers clean because nothing comes up in hijack this, nor any registry things in my registry etc.)

    End of Rant.
