  1. Hi, thanks for your reply. 'Run CCleaner when the computer starts' was already unchecked. I didn't realise 'Keep CCleaner updated automatically' might be causing the issue, so I've unchecked that now. I've still got 'Send notifications when there is a new version' checked though, or should I turn off that off too ? Actually, this time I booted it wasn't there, so it wasn't doing it every time. Your advice though seems as though it has probably cured it (after exiting CCleaner), but I'll keep an eye on it over the next day, and see what happens. Thanks once again.
  2. Strange, then.......... I'll see what anyone else has to say. I should add also that the icon seems to be there most times after booting up from cold..........
  3. Hi there Don't know whether this is just because of my system, or whether other users are also experiencing the same problem, but here goes: Recently updated to the latest version (5.74.8198), it is the free version. We have Windows 10 Home (64-Bit), 20H2 (OS Build 19042.630). As a matter of choice, I don't want Smart Cleaning monitoring on. In Options, Smart Cleaning, I have unchecked both boxes (Tell me when, and Enable Smart Cleaning). In the Startup section when it appears, I have both disabled and deleted this entry. However, I still find that even after closing the program, in the notification icons section of the taskbar, the CCleaner icon is there. This I find annoying. Sometimes I can get rid of it, sometimes I can't. This, I assume, means it's running in the background, even when I don't want it to be, taking up memory and more processes. It is also a small problem on this machine, as it doesn't have that much RAM, but obviously that's not Piriforms fault. As far as I'm concerned, I'll run CCleaner when I choose to, to analyse what needs to be cleaned. Is there anything I can do please, to stop the automatic enabling of Smart Cleaning monitoring with CCleaner, as I have tried everything I can think of ? Is this a known issue, do other users find this, because it seems as though the program is maybe ignoring my wishes ? Thanks for any input with this matter.
  4. Just tried to check for update (out of curiosity). I use W10 Home (64-bit), build 1809 (17763.437). I get a message stating a new version (5.56.7156) is available to download ! https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/update?a=0&v=5.56.7144&t=4&au=1 Downloading it just gives me the version I had before (5.56.7144), as I can tell by the website link posted above. What's going on please? Best Regards.

I've received a PM from 'Victora' on 10th July. I must admit I don't visit these forums very often. I notice her name is still on the members list.

    Please help!

Apologies for the delay in replying.... I have looked at your advice, but being a beginner, it looks quite complicated and beyond my knowledge. I'm not sure it's something I want to mess with at the moment. Hopefully, there is a less complicated method. I'll wait a while to see if anyone else has any alternative suggestions. Many thanks for your reply though!

    Please help!

I'm a new user to these forums, although I have been using CCleaner for some time (excellent prog that it is!) For some months now though, this has been bugging me: Whenever I run CCleaner, about 50% of the time I get a list of (13 at present) uninstaller reference issues. Even if I tell CCleaner to fix the selected issues, a day or two later, they're back again... My knowledge of PCs/Windows is not that great, but I would be extremely grateful if anyone could tell me why this is/or what I'm doing wrong, just so I can resolve this for once and for all. Not any criticism of CCleaner implied, mind. Incidentally, I have also found this with other programs I use (Ashampoo Winoptimiser Platinum 3, Eusing Free Registry Cleaner). Can anyone give me any pointers in the right direction please? Thanks.
