  1. Hi TwistedMetal Yes it is a digital connection using a DVI cable from my video card to my monitor. The monitors highest resolution is 1440 x 900 so I guess it's not HD?
  2. Doesn't "Shakin Stevens" live there? behind the Green Door
  3. Hi DennisD & all others That picture looks a lot like my mother in-law, after she's been to the beauty salon
  4. Hi guys I would like some information and advice on free image hosting services. All helpful advice is greatly appreciated
  5. I'm not complaining about the ads, I'm just interested to know if some are localized for what ever geographic region you are in?
  6. Yes they can be very curious, a friend of mine was trawling for Spanish Mackerel about 3km of the Gold Coast in a 16foot Shark Cat (boat) The twin 75HP Johnson out boards were running a bit above idle when all of a sudden one shook violently and then stopped. He was leaning over the top of the motor and looking into the water to see if the prop had something caught up (rope line etc) He noticed blood in the water, and saw a 2 to 3 meter shark getting torn apart by other sharks. Apparently it's not that uncommon for a shark to bite at a slow turning prop. Obviously the shark came off 2nd best. True story
  7. Hi Hazelnut Yes Pirifom Forums. You use the hosts file?
  8. Hi Humpty Is that some of the action at one of your local beaches?
  9. Hi all Some of the ads that are displayed on the forums seem to be geographically local to me (Australia) Dose someone in say for example (USA) have local ads relevant to their location?
  10. Thanks rridgely I think you have hit the (nail on the head) so to speak Post counts really stand for nothing.
  11. Ok, isn't it time for a new (more interesting) topic? I cant believe what I've stated here...sorry
  12. Hi guys I have a 19 inch LCD wide screen monitor, that has a maximum screen resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels. I have two connection choices, analog using a D-sub cable, or digital using a DVI cable. I use the DVI cable connection and 1440 x 900 screen resolution, and was wondering if this setup could be classed as "High Definition" compared to a High Definition LCD TV?
  13. Thanks Humpty, that link worked. I'm running Sandboxie, "IE7 Sand boxed" and wonder if that might be the problem (why the original link didn't work)
  14. Hi Humpty I clicked on the link in your post "Smoking Teeth Clip" and IE7 says it cannot display the web page? I tried a couple of times
  15. "WOMAN HITLER" yeah I've got one of them
  16. Shop around I never knew my sister had such a temper until I saw her trying to get some "over the phone" help from Dell. They stuffed her around from day 1, she bought the computer on line and was supposed to get double the ram and a printer! No printer turned up, only the extra ram. She did finally get a printer! she reckons it was like trying to get blood out of a stone.
  17. Hi TheOdds & MikeW Thanks for the info, how ever as I mentioned this high speed fan operation only ever happens when the room temperature is below 20 Celsius. I could understand and accept your explanations if this high speed fan operation happened all the time, for instance in summer when the room temp is over 20 Celsius, but it doesn't do it on a warm day.
  18. Gone pear shaped, I hope that doesn't happen! not to the Piriform Forums
  19. Hi guys And DennisD, a good multi player on line game is (Urban Terror) have a look at www.urbanterror.net
  20. Just wondering if the Piriform logo (the O in Piriform) was supposed to represent a pear? and if it dose, whats the story behind the pear?
  21. Hi guys I think I may have mentioned this in other posts, but did not get a reply about my question. The first time I start my PC the case fan runs at high speed for about one to two minutes and then settles down to normal. This only ever happens if the room temperature is below 20c (Celsius) if it's above, like in summer it could be 30c in here and there is no high speed fan operation at startup. Is the fan some how generating heat that is needed for the processor? during cold starts by running at full speed? Is this normal behavior? Dose anyone els have a computer that dose this?
  22. If you ever want to install and play Quake4, even single player mode' get rid of Defender! nothing but trouble!
  23. The (Mars Bi Polar) data traffic relay station is currently emitting (Glycodian Radiation) at alarming levels. Mow, Larry & Curly have warned "A severe intergalactic server brake down is imminent" News flash update: All rabbits, low flying ducks and drop-bears, should take cover!
  24. Hi Anthony A I did try using it (Aspell) while writing in a new post and still had no luck. I tried highlighting text and right clicking, and right clicking in empty space in the dialog box. I might try using it in another forum, as you suggested. Thanks for trying to help
  25. Hi Anthony A Yes I got the downloads from the same site and everything, and installed them in the correct order and let them install in their default location. As far as I can tell I did every thing right, even tried uninstalling and reinstalling. If I clicked on the Edit button in (Opera) the menu showed a grayed out (Spell Check) listing? Was it Clint Eastwood who once said "A mans got to know his limits"? I'll stick with IE7
