  1. I just recenly switched to Avast! anti-virus Home Edition. I am asking as anyone else used this antivirus? And if you have used AVG, are there some places where Avast! excels over AVG? If you haven't used AVG, what do you think of Avast! Home Edition? I just wanted what you guys think (seeing as you guys always provide great information. Thank you in advance for your responses.
  2. Sorry, I don't have any info for you. I did a bit of research myself, and I noticed most the products I found I had to PAY for.
  3. Yeah I tried it (and it's still on my comp). It doesn't seem to have what I was looking for. If I could include music, it's only WAV format that I can use. I got a Mp3 to Wav converter, but I don't want to add extra files to my pc with the same thing.
  4. Sorry I wasn't too clear. Let's say you have a video file on your computer (an AVI for instance), and you want to make it a video with music from other sources in it. That's kind of how Windows Movie Maker is: it lets you put a video file into the program. WMM also allows you to add music and other things. Are there any freeware programs that are like that? I was just wondering if anyone knew about them. I looked at all the freeware posts in the thread called "Freeware!" and I noticed alot of good freeware items people were using (Foxit Reader for example )
  5. Does anyone know of any good, free Windows Movie Maker-type video software that is free? I've tired one already (I can't remember the name) and my computer was too uberly slow to run it properly. Thanks in advance for any kinds of suggestions (or responses for that matter).
  6. I read all the replies, and you guys all make good points. It's actually help me to expand my thinking on the advantages of freeware and commercial software.
  7. I see your point. So, one has to consider what kind of environment he or she is working with when he or she is trying to figure whether he or she wants to use freeware or commercial software. My dad uses Norton Internet Security, and he kept boasting how it was the best thing he has ever seen. He saw it at his work, and he decided to use it. I try to use it, and it's god-awful for my computer: it hogs resources, it slows down start up, and it slows down overall system performance (at least for me). I switch to freeware and I am running well, if not better, compared to when I had Norton on my computer.
  8. Me and my father had a discussion about free software and commercial software. He claims that that commercial software (you have to pay for) is much better than freeware, and I say otherwise. I would like to hear your opinions. It's not one of those "I am right you're wrong" issues: I want ot know what others think. I personally think that freeware can be just as good as commerical software.
