  1. Thanks razz its no trouble its my hobby that I've used for 13 years. But does it convert everything that you want converting or do you what other options available? Oh I picked up my new computer yesterday Utima Warlord with the XFX ATI RADEON 4870 x2 2048MB Graphics Card, DELL IN2010N 20" monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, url="http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-107-CL&groupid=702&catid=22&subcat="]Speakers[/url] and Floppy drive plus an additional Pioneer DVR-217FBK 22x DVD?RW because I can't find any pure CD CDR?RW writers. I've just got to set it up with WinXP 2002 SP2.
  2. Yes but I don't have any problems uploading on any other forum though. Oh I've notice a very slight error when printing in my app. I just use the default printer if you have one installed. On later apps that print I show the Control Panel - Printers so you can choose which printer you want to use, so you just right-click and set as default. This saves adding an extra Comdlg32.ocx. I won't reposted the modified version as I don't thing anyone will be interested apart from razz. Have fun.
  3. Yes its very easy to use. You just select the type of conversion you want to do and the units you want to show. As you type in the TextBox it shows the answer immediately. Its a new compile yesterday because at work I make a log file which shows the username, date and time the app starts and finishes so I can keep a check on who uses it and for how long. You don't needs this option. As I've said if you need any other topics added thats no problem (providing you supply the forumula). The original one in this topic used a Tabbed control. Thats no problem but you would have the add Tabctl32.ocx to your Win\Sys folder. I'm still having problems uploading. It says Attachment space used 948.23K of 1.95MB and it only 53Kb zipped of course razz. I've gone to work to upload it, success. Conversion_Utility.zip Conversion_Utility.zip
  4. No it isn't. No fooling? Really? Yes it is. No it isn't to me. I write programs and if someone hits the (X) button they want to close it and finish not minimize to the systray. Thats the reason for short-cuts so you can find the app you want to run without searching for them. Well if you're using 1GB for apps that you don't really need all the time then your using half you memory requirement just for that process. So you have 52 processing running in Task Manager then? Thats 25 more than you need. Its a bad suggestion to me so I won't say anymore.
  5. Ok sorry for the confusion. No you don't have to restore 3,000 entries you just right-click on the reg file and select Edit. Then you can remove the sections you don't want to restore and restore the parts that aren't working correctly.
  6. Sorry razz I've been having trouble trying to upload it all day. I've tried 5 times and it starts to upload them stops. I think I have space left to upload. I'm having a NEW computer in a couple of days, I will try again then. Unless I go back to work and upload it.
  7. Well all these apps running in the Systray are running in the background even though you can't see them on the Taskbar and they are ALL using system resources. If you minimize CC with the Minimize to System Tray option then minimize it, it will disappear of the Taskbar and goto the systray. I really don't know why you want it running all the time whether its in the systray or not? It only takes seconds to run it do a clean and close it. You can set it to run it everytime Windows starts then close.
  8. Well Windows works a bit strangely sometimes because you can Run: any.exe in Program Files by just giving there name. You can unregister dll's with the /u switch Run: Regsvr32 /u Your.dll but you can't register them in the same way Regsvr32 Your.dll you have to give the full path to this dll. Now for many many years I've used ActiveX Manager because I programme in VB. The easiest way once installed is to just double-click the dll/ocx to register it and right-click and select Unregister DLL Server to unregister it. I would let CC remove any references to bad dll's/ocx's but make a backup of what it removes from the registry. You can always double-click this reg file to put the objects back into the registry, what could be simpler?
  9. Welcome to Piriform fraggletooth. Well the simple answer to this is the name of the dll or ocx is given in the list. If you do a search on your drive for these files and they aren't found then you can remove them from the registry. If they are found then you can try and re-register then with Run: Regsvr32 filename.dll or filename.ocx Thats if they are in the Win\Sys folder.
  10. I made a conversion utility 10 years ago that converts Area, Force, Fuel Consumption, Length (Distance), Mass (Weight), Power, Pressure, Temperature, Torque (Turning Force), Velocity (Speed) and Volume (Capacity). If your interested let me know and I'll post it.
  11. Well I'm not sure how CC gets the operating system but I use API calls which is nothing to do with the registry. I use GetVersionEx API from kernel32.dll which is a common file in all Windows systems. We would have the ask MrG if he uses that API call.
  12. Welcome to Piriform t,wicks. Yes Windows Media Center does come under WinXP. Ok then just try this little Windows Version.exe app that I made and see what it shows for you. Windows_Version.zip
  13. What are you calling imaging software exactly? Something that will view BMP, GIF, WMF, JPG, CUR and ICO files? I made an app that will do that and show a slideshow of all images in a folder that if your interested, let me know.
  14. That link only talks about Win9x/ME. It is a bug because I can go into the registry and clean the run files and they disappear immediately, I don't have to do a restart.
  15. I think its not obvious it looks no different to me. They should have a forum or a complaints link, I have loads from there.
  16. Yes that one feature I never use when I install CC, I only use the desktop icon. You can easily check for updates on your own if you click on the Check for updates link in the bottom right corner. Then you can just download and install when you want too, after CC has closed.
  17. Well that seems like a useful report Nate we will have to see what the developers make of it.
  18. Welcome to Piriform mitchsc. When you installing CC do you have the old CC running in the background? If so thats the problem, it can't replace the existing file if its in use. Do you have the updates checked when you installed CC? Just leave ccleaner.ini in the CC folder. The newer version thats installed will know its there and use the settings inside. I wouldn't think its an attribute problem Andavari as read-only run the same a normal.
  19. Welcome to Piriform ady4urn. Well thats something I've never encountered. The unistaller always removes all menu items and the folder for me. Not a bad suggestion for all the idle people out there.
  20. Welcome to Piriform CH. Well thats strange. The Recover button is always greyed out/disabled until you check some files. I've never tried it on a SD card. Give it a quick try on your hard drive and see if its still disabled after selecting something.
  21. Welcome to Piriform Nate. Well you could open the Recuva_log.txt to read what it says inside. If it only shows you currect windows system as on top of Recuva then it hasn't caught any errors. You could copy and paste the contents of the file inside [ code] [ /code] but just remove the spaces at the beginning. Or you can post the Recuva_log file as Hazel suggests as an attachment.
  22. Well if users would put there age in there profile you wouldn't have to ask this question.
  23. Well I never use wizard. When you install and first run Recuva there is a checkbox on the first page I think its something about wizard just remove the check then click Cancel. Or you can remove wizard in Options then try it again. Its been a couple of years since I first used Recuva but this startup page has always confused me for two main reasons. 1) I write programs and when I use a Cancel button that means you don't want to continue with the current process/options. 2) When Recuva is run for the first time it tries to connect to the web, why? There is a link on here for the Recuva BeginnersGuide.chm help file second edition but I can't file it at the moment or there is the link to Recuva Documentation. Does it produce a Recuva_log[1_26_416][todays date and time].txt file?
