  1. My sweet Hazelnut Fluffy does live in a little virtual world !!!!! when i delete they stay there also if i use the"is window sandboxed" and move the target over them it says "the selected window is not running as part of any sanbox program" which makes me think they are in my ]real c drive Floof
  2. cc1 sorry if i`m not clearly explaining, I am finding files in my computer, local c drive, sandbox, user, delete default box, they are on my ordinary c drive,it seems everytime i browse the cookies etc are put in there,a different folder for each browsing sesion I have ticked the box for deletion as you indicate and with sdelete, thats why i do`ntt find anthing to delete in the sandbox its as if they are copied from my browsingsessions and put in the sandbox folder on my c drive outside the sandbox thats why superntispyware can pick them up, I hope this might give you a better idea of why i think something isn`t right !! Please if i haven`t explaine properly let me know !! Fluff
  3. Tasgandy ! Do`nt blame Hazelnut,I think it was my fault in asking questions..!!!! and Dennis thanks for the logical reply i do`nt think anyone will ever tell you to P*** off you are too valued here I have looked at the Sandboxie forum like Aqua and you never seem to find the simple answer you end up finding new queries ! What freaked me out a bit was when I did a Superantispware scan, after i had used CCleaner and it found 36 tracking cookies when normally i would expect 2 from my homepage. These were found in C,Sandbox,User, delete default box, The files kept adding and adding everytime i browsed. cc1Brilliant reply !!! tweaking CC as you have shown should help to clear these out ,or is it best to alter sanboxie to stop them getting there in the first place ?! Thank you all Fluff
  4. Andavari said Nice try to get me to make free icons but I'm not that nice. I don`t beleive him !! Thanks for the links ,i`ll have a look though them !! Fluff
  5. It`s me again !! With a couple of queries... 1 I understand that my CCleaner can`t clean everthing out of the sandbox web browser, history, cookies etc, It seems to clear somethings when i run it sandboxed..when i`ve used my web browser sand boxed can I alter any settings on CCleaner to make sure it has purged the sandboxie files ?( i do like my CCleaner !) 2.if i open, sandboxie control, from start, programs, sandboxie control, sandboxiedefault box, explore contents, user. there are files including cookies etc that i thought would have been deleted, when i shut down sandboxie,if i choose empty contents option,it says there is nothing to delete .as they are not sandboxed ! i.e i can delete them and they go into recycle bin as an ordinary file. which then makes me think that somehow they have got out of the sandbox ! if this was a trojan it could do the same? hope i`m not been parnoid but sanboxie does say "trust no program"! any thoughts appreciated from sandboxie users !!! Fluff
  6. Andavari, Hope I`m not going off topic here, but the icon making idea I think is great, Iv`e used ready made free ones from www.iconarchive.com and i know there are programs you can download, I did post years ago about making/having a Piriform one( a Pear) I made one for my Piriform folder but Microsoft "restored" it`s own again and i`ve lost it ! perhaps Andavari we could ask for a iconmaking for dummies link ! or could you make icon`s on request for any of us lot !! Fluff I need one of a watering can for a gardening folder !!
  7. Your right about some stuff doesn`t sell,,but I have sold somethings that to me are`nt valuable but are collected by other people old comics etc the thing is to look at what is selling and for what price before you put anything on. I hope there`s someone out there that might have information that can help Lulu,as the law etc is different in th UK Fluff
  8. Hazelnut !! and Redhawk..Thanks! have been reading the links and having a play around .I think I`m sorted now !!! As always many thanks for the help anyone else out there who hasn`t got round to updating their security..what are you waiting for !! no time like the present !!! Fluff
  9. Thanks Redhawk and Hazel Have configured emails in sandboxie to be able to run sandboxed if i so choose,so i can open dodgy emails ! A couple more questions if you can enlighten, My real time AV (avast) will be running normally even within the sandbox program, good! If i do a scan using MBAM or Super antispyware, will this look at anything inside the sandboxed program and scan it ? I did notice that my CCleaner for instance didn`t remove web browser history in the sandbox, will this then still have cookies etc in it ? or can i configure CC to clean out the sandboxie browser ? Oh the sand seems to get everywhere !!!!! Fluff
  10. LuLu I do`nt think you say why your Uncle is selling your home...is it because he is in financial hardship ? just wonderewd what his motivation was and if there was any way of putting him off until you and your Mom got back on our feet. On making money I`ve used ebay quite a bit for somethings that ou get a better price for than a garage sale if there collectable and people collect all sorts ! take care F
  11. Hazel and Redhawk ! Thanks for your replies..I have now downloaded Sanboxie and using it now ..having a little play with it so you could say `im playing in the sand pit Just not sure about updating windows and ccleaner MBAM etc and other essential programs whilst sanboxed. I wondered if you bother with using emails sandboxed ?? Fluff

  18. Dennis D I think i`ve got it now !!! yes i looked and there`s all my files/programs etc ,the other back up files for email.favourites etc i will leave them there.. When you make your monthly disk image,do you delete the previous or does it over write it?? As regard to storage i`m going to keep files music photo`s on my new external drive and i might evenuallly archive ohoto`s onto disks.. but i think i`m pretty sorted !! Thaks again Dennis And Tasgandy thanks for the link to allwaysync.com I think i`ll let the mods have a look at that and perhaps they could review ? I`m learning to be wary of my own fiddling with the computer..if I`ve learned one thing it`s how much I do`nt know about computers !! Cheers Fluff !
  19. Dennis D cheers for the advice,I have now formatted the hard drive and installed macrium and verified ! I`m leaving that alone now until such time i get a problem, but hopefully will not need it ! one last question the other back up files that i already had (i have put into the same drive as back up),but has Macrium reflect in effect made these files redundant ?? Many thanks again for your help... Fluffy
  20. Check out Icedrake`s Iced Tech blog !! interesting comparison with firewalls http://icedtech.blogspot.com/2009/12/matou...st-results.html
  21. Hi Folks I have just had a thread in the hardware section as I have a new expansion external drive to play with ! I have been recommended to.. take 500GB hard drive and partition it into 50/50 or 250GB/250GB or split into another ratio you see fit. Next I would use backup software and make a clone copy of your Operating System and save this to the first partition of your external drive. I have looked through the recommended software thread but not come across any software yet that could copy my system onto my new external drive as a backup--any one know or used one ?? oh and it must be idiot proof !!!!!! Appreciate any comments thankyou Fluffy
  22. Redhawk Many thanks for your clear reply, I like the idea of having the cloned operating system stored in the external hard drive, my existing "backup" folder has email, internet favourites some microsoft files and a few other application and programs (that do include the install files),if i had a good cloned copy of my system presumeably this folder would become redundant ? If anyone can recommend some software back up that they`ve used I would be grateful for the info ***will post this request now in "software forum thread !*** Thanks again Redhawk
  23. Hi I`ve just got for Christmas ! a seagate expansion 500gb external hard drive so i can have more storage,I I have already (small capacity 40gb) 20gb on my C drive and 20gb on my D drive I use for storage I have a few questions if any one can give me a few tips and pointers,I have been reading this thread but have got lost a bit into knowing what`s the best thing to do so here goes 1.With addition of new hard drive do I need to reformat my existing drives to be more efficient ? 2.Backed up programs on existing D drive-is it better to put all of these on the new (G) drive ? (if so do I need to do anything with the programs so they know to go to the new G drive and not the old D drive 3.I will be using the new G drive for photo`s,music documants etc do i need to format this drive in any way or just keep adding files I like the idea of keeping my file secure in case i get hit with anything nasty and have the option of reinstalling windows etc to clear out the computer of anything that might have infected the computer,do i need to have some protection to the new external hardrive ? I would appreciate any top tips from you guys and apologise if anything sounds to b*****y obvious but would sooner ask a simple question rather than pretend i know what i`m doing !!! Fluff
  24. I saw it yesterday as well ,fantastic 3D effect and a really good film.well done Cameron my only critic is that you are in effect watching the film through "sun glasses" and i wish they could have brightened the film to compensate against this and it`s shot in wide screen and then the cinema give you glasses with a 4 X 3 format ! hope they improve the glasses soon !
  25. Good one mps69_1999 !!
