  1. I use CCleaner in 2 computers (desktop and notebook).

It became terribly slow in desktop. Any hints? Thanks.

    Celeron 2.4, 512MB, HD 80GB, Windows XP SP2.

I use CC on 4 different computers. An XP box, win2000 and 2 winME boxes.

I try to run it after every online session and just after all reboots. When I do not

run it everyday it slows up like any cleaning program. The more it has to clean the

slower. Try running it after a session and always after a reboot. If the speed picks up

your OK. If not run all the spyware programs you have ie: Spybot, Ad-Ware SE w/all free plug-ins. If you are clean uninstall it and reinstall it.

Hope this helps you Later Bill B)

  2. Following DjLizard's help in this topic http://forum.CCleaner.com/index.php?showtopic=844

he has asked me to post about this here, so here I am. :D

Not sure what info you need so if you need more please do tell me what you require.

Basically after running CCleaner and clearing out everything including the registry issues I could no longer access my Yahoo emails using Firefox.

After signing in I just got a completely blank, white screen.

Now with DjLizard's help I can do this although the page layout is incomplete.

Hope this helps and please do ask for any further information that may assist.

  3. Well F-Prot is known for giving false alarms on some compressed files, however it's usually only if they've been compressed with UPX. I immediately decompress any UPX compressed files I come across, since F-Prot isn't the only av scanner that can give a false warning. There's tons of compressed executables floating about - for instance lossy audio encoders LAME, MPC, OGG, etc.

    ;)

  4. The latest version of the F-Prot Antivirus definitions seem to be falsely identifying the CCleaner setup as containing the trojan W32/Banco.GL.

Please note that this is an incorrect detection and you can safely install CCleaner. :)
