  1. This is a frustrating problem that has been happening for some time. The text on some programs do not fit, for example: I can't grab the side and drag to make it bigger. Also as you can see the icons on my computer are average size. The start menu is fine. It is just some programs. Movie Maker does this as well. I don't really know what the problem is. I thought it might be a display issue. Any help would be appreciated.
  2. Open Internet Explorer > Tools > Options > Programs and enable the option: "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser" Close IE and open again. Click YES if you are prompted to set it as default browser.
  3. Me too....this is as close as we are going to get to it in the US and it's just down the road from me!
  4. I really appreciate your help. Thanks for all you do.
  5. I talked to him and all he could tell me was that it was Great Plains Accounting 7.1 on Mac OS 9 that needs to be converted to Microsoft Dynamics 10.0 SQL 2005. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
  6. A relative of mine was needing to transfer a lot of data files (I have no idea of what kinds) for OS X 9 to a windows based computer, probably XP. I have been looking at software and was wondering if anyone had any experience or advice on the best way to do this. It is for the business he is in charge of so they are pretty important files. Thanks for the help.
  7. http://www.idodogtricks.com/index_flash.html I always like these things for some reason. EDIT: Here is a more disturbing one. Another reason some might not want to eat chicken! http://www.subservientchicken.com/
  8. I'm pretty sure that it isn't with the secure deletion, I may be wrong though. Eraser should be able to securely delete the index.dat files. Of course they will keep coming back. I guess you could write a batch file for Eraser to clean index.dat at startup. Hope this helps!
  9. I like this version best: but here it is in English: 2 second shirt fold
  10. Exactly the same date and time for me. Microsoft is doing a Hell of a job promoting Linux!
  11. Yep this along with IMG Burn does the job for me, and replaced that crappy RecordNow that was bundled on my computer.
  12. Which one of these sports is the most popular in the USA; Basketball (NBA), Football (NFL) or Baseball? I would agree that football is the most popular. Years ago it would have been baseball but with all the steroid allegations and strikes that has happened, it has fell off. I also think it depends on what part of the country you live in. I live in NC so college basketball is huge here but we also have two juggernaut teams here in our backyard! College basketball for me closely followed by American Football.
  13. I've had one done on both of my knees (from years of basketball). It took about 30 min for each one. I'm 6'5" and couldn't fit all the way in the machine so it was alright. My shoulders were too wide so I was down about that far. The machine was terribly loud. The tech gave me earplugs to wear. Since you are only having your foot done and only one body part, it should be a piece of cake. If it were however on a body part that couldn't be reached ex: my shoulder, there are such things as open MRI's. Good luck and hope everything turns out for the best.
  14. After using the restore point, all is good. The ScanDefrag went off without a hitch and reboot was normal. I guess it had to be the Cyberhawk Pro. My computer didn't seem to like the PC Tools Firewall that much either!
  15. My bad.. ScanDefrag, I read about it in the new JKDefrag post. I had used or installed it until just now. This reboot problem first happened after the Cyberhawk Pro install earlier today. Before this, never had a problem. I have a system checkpoint from two days ago if need be. I haven't done a lot since then so I won't be losing much!
  16. Maybe it wasn't Cyberhawk for me. I just downloaded RegScan and tried it. I followed the install with ZSoft and upon reboot I got the same screen with the Safe Mode prompts and the Start with Last Known Configuration. I followed your advice about safe mode. The computer shutdown like it was going to reboot and went back to the same screen. I tried this several times with the same result. I tried safe mode with command prompt with no avail. So I did the last known working config and it worked. When the computer booted RegScan was running, which I thought was weird. I cancelled it out and tried to restart my computer. It restarted fine. I've never had problems installing new software. Avira free, Superantispyware, and AVG Anti-Spyware all come up with nada. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated!
  17. Installed and on reboot, system would not reboot until I chose the option to start system at last stable point or something like that.
  18. I've tried it before and it removes some stuff, but it will never remove all of the crap that comes bundled on a computer. I found myself manually removing items after use. Next time, I'm going to use the "shove it" method as well!
  19. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with freeware drive imaging software. I was looking at DriveImage XML, but wanted to see if anyone had any better suggestions. I saw the thread for the free Acronis True Image v.10 but I don't have a seagate or maxtor hard drive. Any help would be appreciated!
  20. Yes, I just updated to the current version. After you convert it to the English version, all it takes is a name and an email address. I'm gonna give it a try and see what it's like. Dennis per the Sandboxie-Front Page Sandboxie is free so you really don't have to look around for an alternative. If you find it makes your Web experience that much safer, you are encouraged to register the program for a small fee. So I guess that is it??
  21. Thanks rridgely! You have to download the Powershadow2.6 trial from http://www.tucows.com/preview/400832 as the link on the Powershadow site did not work. The free registeration code is User: PowerShadow s/n: VVR29E-R4WCK2-K4T111-V1YHTP-4JYJDD After you type it in the register section, exit Powershadow and open it again. It will change from 30 day trial to 2.6 registered version! EDIT: Dennis, you beat me to it, and I didn't even know I could get a later version. Thanks
  22. Thanks for the info Dennis. You can still get the free version of PowerShadow version2.6. I got it today, but I'm not doing anything with it yet. You can get the activation code over at Wilders. The guy who posted it said that the activation code was still on the PowerShadow site. I can't read Chinese and my computer isn't set up to read that text either, so who knows. I didn't know if it was alright to link to the Wilders forum, so I didn't post it. If it is, I or someone else can link to it if anyone is interested.
  23. I just found this http://www.pcsx2.net "PCSX2 is a PlayStation 2 emulator for Windows and Linux. PCSX2 attempts to allow PS2 code to be executed on your computer, thus meaning you can put a PS2 DVD or CD into your computers drive, and boot it up!" I was wondering what the catch was? Is this for real and is it legal in the US? Sorry for being full of questions today, but I knew someone on here would know!
