Recommended Posts

After installing CCleaner v5.03 to my pc (winXP sp2) and after any open & exit of CCleaner, pc restarts.

I had to turn back to previous version.

Thank you in advance

try getting SP3 for XP.

Backup now & backup often.

Is SP2 still supported by ccleaner? Do you have the option shutdown after clean checked off in ccleaner's settings?

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.

Please refrain from using all caps, it's considered shouting and is difficult to read. You're correct SP3 has bugs, although every Windows version ever released has bugs. The issue could be because of SP2 being used, I can't begin to think of a software that still claims to fully support it.

Hi everyone,

There is a problem with XP SP2 and Microsoft has posted a hotfix:

http://support2.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?kbid=921337

We have applied this patch to our testing machine and problem was fixed. No more BSOD after installing it.

We are working on a solution to avoid this problem, but in the meantime, you might want to consider this hotfix...

Thanks

MrT

  • 1 year later...

Had the same problem and have a way to work around it.

The system gave a blue screen and a big crash. After restarting everything is fine.

stop c000021a {onherstelbare systeemfout} het systeemproces windows subsysteem is onverwacht afgebroken met de status:0xc0000005 (0x7c9106c3 0x00ebec24)

I think it means:
stop c000021a {not repairable systemfailure} the systemprocess windows subsystem has been broken down unexpectedly with the status:0xc0000005 (0x7c9106c3 0x00ebec24)

Solution:

Install crapcleaner v5.1 but do not start the program then go to c\program files\ccleaner\ccleaner.ini and start that up. In that ccleaner.ini file there is text that says things like monitoring=1, make sure that all kinds of monitoring is off is 0.

Then you can start the program and it works fine on windows xp sp 2. But do not set any monitoring on in the program!
