I just complete redesigned the website, and in the process removed the HTML changelog for the most recent version. Until the next version is released, I'm not going to replace it, so use the plaintext one for the time being. Sorry!

I’d like to report a mistake in the [MS Visual Studio Search History *] section of the winapp2.ini : this is not “RegKey1=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\7.1\Find\Find 0″ but “RegKey1=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\7.1\Find|Find 0″ with a pipe for the chains and not the keys… This is the same for all the other chains.

I don't keep the old What's new, I've often considered it, but if I recall correctly the old MS Security was removed because it was causing issues with many people's clients.

For [Adobe Flash Player More*] with Chrome we don't have the key to detect, but these paths must be cleaned :

I'd like to suggest a path to add to your file for the Windows Update Cache :

The SoftwareDistribution folder will never be cleaned by Winapp2.ini

 

It has been broadly discussed on this thread and deemed to be too much of a harm-causer for a novice user to use. While the entry itself has little capacity to hurt a machine, the user, confused by the after effects of removing that folder, can get frustrated and blame us

If you add this line to the entry [Adobe Flash Player More*]:

%AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player|*.*|RECURSE

 

You have to add this line also:

ExcludeKey1=FILE|%AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys|settings.sol

 

Otherwise all your settings are gone!

the point of flash player more is to remove settings.sol else just use in ccleaner's built adobe flash check, or exclude the file in your own (I actually remove the entry completely )

Sorry, but you are wrong. The current entry clears the AssetCache and the FlashInstall.log only.

not really because each chrome installs in it's own version folder iirc

 

the reason for removing settings.sol is it holds your list of visited sites and was the only way of removing those (at least at the time it was created) I wasn't aware of the rest of the more* entry as I am not on a pc at the moment.

I found something strange that very recent versions of firefox do (I don't know which version it started with, but I use FF 15.0a1 en-US portable). When I was defragging my hard drive, I found that firefox had generated a large collection of .png thumbnails of sites that I had been to. (I was offline at the time.) I assume that firefox does this because the optional thumbnail view of open tabs uses them. I'm not sure if it's a fluke or not, but when I CCleaner with CCEnhancer & the latest Winapp2.ini file, it didn't get the thumbnails in question. Could somebody make sure that the latest Winapp2.ini file either has entries for them or gets the needed entries in the next version?

Probably, but the only one I can think of that doesn't use the default profile location is Pale Moon. What is it, %AppData%\Moonchild Productions\Pale Moon\Profiles?
