Winapp2.ini additions

Winapp2.ini

Why are you detecting what you are deleting. This seems unclean

you need to detect a file or entry that will stay in existence not what you are cleaning

Typo or something, I guess, but you should check what I suggested:

[Adobe Flash Install Logs*]
LangSecRef=3023
DetectFile1=%WinDir%\System32\Macromed\Flash
DetectFile2=%WinDir%\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
Default=False
FileKey1=%WinDir%\System32\Macromed\Flash|FlashInstall.log
FileKey2=%WinDir%\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash|FlashInstall.log

Btw. now over 1000 replies in this thread. :D

Don't know if it's supposed to but [internet Explorer More*] causes slow loading and high cpu usage when viewing image thumbnails

This entry has nothing to do with that issue. This entry is completely safe.

I thought X-Chat 2 already had an entry but I can't seem to find it

New Entry

[X-Chat 2*]
LangSecRef=3022
DetectFile=%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\X-Chat 2
Default=False
FileKey1=%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\X-Chat 2\xchatlogs|*.*|REMOVESELF
FileKey2=%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\X-Chat 2\scrollback|*.*|REMOVESELF

Cleans the logs and the scrollback if enabled in X-Chat 2

extra space or End of Line Character at the end of:

[Audio/Video (Stats)*] (FileKey)

[Paint.NET More*] (FileKey)

Proposed changes

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

[Any Video Converter*] Change to [AnvSoft Any Video Converter*] in order to 1) not cause confusion with, little a, "any video converter" and 2) fit with the "AnvSoft Any Audio" entries

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I also notice that the [MS Office Word More*] entry has been changed to recursivly clean the entire appdata folder for word. This includes

listgal.dat which is used for custom multilevel lists http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/create-a-multilevel-list-HA010065017.aspx#BM2

and the Startup folder http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/load-or-unload-a-template-or-add-in-program-HA010105537.aspx#BM3

both of these seem likely to (while rarely) be used without the user knowing that they use them and thus cleaning would cause issues. I propose a roleback to

[MS Office Word More*]
Warning=This will delete the temp files created by Microsoft Word
LangSecRef=3021
Detect=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\Word

FileKey2=%AppData%\Microsoft\Word|*.as$
FileKey3=%Documents%|~*.doc|RECURSE

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.

Good catch Rick I missed that one in looking. The second entry can be removed as it is combined with the 64bit entry

You have removed the highlighted line from the entry listed below. This was a valid path,

iPhone creates crash logs (Diagnostics & Usage Data) and after syncing iPhone with iTunes, it transfers all the crash logs to computer.

[iTunes Logs*]

LangSecRef=3023

DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\iTunes\iTunes.exe

Default=False

FileKey1=%AppData%\Apple Computer\Logs|*.crash|RECURSE

FileKey2=%AppData%\Apple Computer\Logs|*.log|RECURSE

FileKey3=%WinDir%\system32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\Logs|*.log|RECURSE

You also ignored all other entries that I posted few days before.

I am listing all those entries here again.

Wow! I looked at some of the entries here. You guys should pat yourselves on the back for being total slaves for the rest of us.

I can't believe the amount of effort you all put into updating things.

Thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks!

I think we should exclude only STARTUP folder and listgal.dat file. This location can store shortcuts of the Word templates separately and sometimes in a folder (diff. name each time).

Thank you. At least someone here appreciates. :)

I put a lot of effort into doing that. Creating a system image. Installing and testing the programs. Making the entries and then rolling the system back. :)
