Becoming
I have run cleaner successfully and now want to advance to registry cleaning but have no idea what the letters in the issues column mean. Can I fix all of them or might there be things I want to leave alone? How would I know the difference? Thanks
Moderators DennisD Posted September 26, 2009 Moderators Share Posted September 26, 2009 Hi Becoming, and welcome to Piriform. It's not really possible to give a straight answer on which to remove and which to leave alone as our PC's are pretty unique and what may be OK for one, may cause an issue on another. I've always had every Registry item checked since starting with CCleaner in 2006, and I've never been aware of a problem. The important thing is to follow the CCleaner dialogue and make a backup of the registry entries to be removed, and further to that, I would suggest installing and using the Registry Backup utility "ERUNT". Download here: As long as you have registry backups, any issue can usually be resolved by either merging the CCleaner or the ERUNT backup back into the registry. Hope that helps, but if you require more info, please post back.
