  2. Going back to your first post you say that CCleaner shows up in the Start menu - but nowhere else? ie. Is there no desktop icon? Let's check whether it is installing properly, or even installing at all, open File Explore and go to C:\Program Files\CCleaner. Are there any files in there? (In particular CCleaner.exe and CCleaner64.exe). If it's there then double click CCleaner.exe to see if it will run that way.
  3. Neighbor got it today via Update Assistant. Took time but working fine. I got it yesterday via Windows Update. Working okay after some strange glitches after some restarts -- but all is fine now. Reliability History said Microsoft Outlook shut down unexpectedly -- I don't have it on my computer. Then later, same notification for Cortana. Well, I'm using a local account and as of Win 10 2004, Cortana only works with a Microsoft Account. Neither message has returned. Also, new version of CCleaner 5.67.7763 is working perfectly with 2004 on my rig. Stay healthy and safe!
  4. I have been using CCleaner & Recuva for many years & CCleaner is fantastic. I do have a problem, or at least a complaint, about Recuva. If I run Recuva in regular mode on my C:\ drive, it will usually return 100 to 2,000 files. I then use a file shredder program to delete them. I can then go to All Files > I'm not sure > Enable Deep Scan, and the return is generally between 250,000 & 350,000. I recover all of them to a USB Flash Drive, and as above, shred them all. I then either select "Delete all checked" or "Delete all highlighted" and receive the warning that they will be forever "unrecoverable". A few hours later after all the above is accomplished, I do another scan like the 2nd mentioned above. I will again get 250,000 to 350,000 results. The site says a "Deep Scan" will only recover files by numbers, but that's not accurate. A significant part of those recovered are listed with full name & date created going all the way back to 2006. I have do this literally dozens & dozens of time with the same results. I'm totally and completely confused by this. My purpose is to make all deleted files "Non-Recoverable", but I simply cannot make that happen. Would you please explain in detail what is going on and why so many files that have been recovered & shredded keep returning on the next scan 'exactly as they appeared on previous scans'? NOTE: I am using Recuva Professional v1.53.1087 (64-bit).
  5. Thank you for the summary, Nukecad. We'll look into it.
  6. I have been having this same problem. I note that the version of ntdll.dll shown in the problem signature is dated 1/2/2020 (I suspect that it was installed be the final WIN 7 update KB4534310). Could there be some incompatibility between the newer CCleaner versions and this version of ntdll.dll?
  7. Today
  8. Using Windows 10, Firefox Malwarebytes Premium Norton 360. My Install also crashes or doesn't even start to install since v5.64 Never had a problem before even with these running & not disabled. Really miss my ccleaner!
  9. Hello Please remove from [Internet Explorer *] the line: RegKey4=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl It contains some settings that can be useful and are used by some of us, either through group policy or otherwise. The way to clean something is not to wipe all the settings. These settings in particular are used (queried) not only by IE, but also by many programs that access the Internet (or try to or are badly written to try to). You can check with Process Monitor, nearly every program uses them. For Windows 7 I am sure that many programs use them, and I see the queries also on Win10, don't know if they are used to the same extent, but they are used. I remove the line manually for nearly a year since it was introduced, enough is enough.
  10. was useful to know, tnx for the info
  11. 5.67 exhibits the same behavior, i.e. it won't run. I'm using Norton IS and I excluded CCleaner from it's monitoring but that made no difference. As to what was on the previous drive I'm unsure if 5.66 or a predecessor.
  12. Just an update on this issue. Windows Feature update 2004 installed, and it still gives this error. Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.264) Windows 10 Pro. I only use the Firefox 76.0.1 64bit browser. Thanks!
  13. Still not fixed in v5.67.7763! Very disappointing! You have broken a function that has worked for years, please fix it as soon as possible.
  14. Still not fixed or optimized in v5.67.7763!

  19. 2004 seems to be running OK here. It did change my colour scheme back to light for the start menu and taskbar, (but not for settings menus?), and for some reason turned on the taskbar labels. Probably a consequence of using the Update Assistant rather than Windows Updates. Soon sorted those out.
  20. Version 5.44 is a very old, and now slightly broken version of CCleaner. If you are having trouble with the CCleaner Professional Plus bundle installer (see here https://support.piriform.com/hc/en-us/articles/360028350711-How-many-computers-can-I-install-CCleaner-Professional-Plus-on-) on the computers with 5.44 you may need to uninstall 5.44 first before installing your new version on top of it. Alternatively, if those two machines with 5.44 on them are still showing as "CCleaner Free" you may need to register them so that they know you now have the paid version (https://support.piriform.com/hc/en-us/articles/204043844--Problems-activating-or-registering-CCleaner-Professional)

  22. What Windows operating system do the computers with 5.44 installed have?
  23. I installed Ccleaner Professional on all 3 of my home computers but the versions don't match. On one of my computers, v5.66.7716 (64-bit) with Health Check was installed. On the other two of my computers an older version, v5.44.6575 (64-bit) without Health Check was installed. I paid for a 3 computer bundle to include Health Check on all computers. How do I upgrade my 2 computers with the older version that did not receive Health Check, to the newer version with Health Check, so all 3 of my computer's Ccleaner Professional programs match?
  24. Hi, You can try this one. Install the free version of Recuva using this link https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva/download/standard Once the download has completed, simply double-click the file to start the installation. Create a folder on a USB drive and name it anything that you would like. (e.g. Recuva Pro Portable) Browse to the program's installation folder (e.g. C:\Program Files\Recuva) and copy its files to the folder you created. Create a portable.dat dummy file inside of the folder you created. To create the portable.dat dummy file: - Right-click on a blank area of the new folder > click New > Text Document - Replace the entire file name with "portable.dat" and click Enter. - You will be prompted to confirm the file extension change. Click Yes.
  25. Are you talking about Recuva ? (I hope so) https://www.ccleaner.com/docs/recuva/using-recuva
