  1. It worked! I downloaded the Unlocker program, ran it and by following the directions, deleted the two files. Thank you for the advice!
  2. Quite a bit. However, none of the offfered solutions worked. The problem is the two files have no extensions; the extensions are not hidden, the extensions are not there. It seems to be a highly unique problem. Thanks, anyway.
  3. One is 847 KB and the other is 328 KB. Again, they have no extensions. I tried to recover files from a flash drive. Some files came up green so I recovered them to my desktop. I could delete all of the files except those two. They're on the desktop and can be found by Windows Explorer but they have no extension and cannot be moved, opened or deleted. Thank you for your attention.
  4. What operating system are you using? Windows 7. Are you admin of machine? Yes. Have you rebooted yet? Yes. Try this (read instructions) https://www.malwareb...g/fileassassin/ I ran fileassassin and it found the two files. Then it said they didn't exist. The files were listed as being on the desktop, but the fileassassin program said they weren't there when I tried to delete them. The files have the name of the files but not the extensions.
  5. I used Recuva on a flash drive and put the recovered files on the desktop. When I tried to delete the recovered files, they would not delete. According to Windows, the files are not located at User/Coputer/Desktop. When I clicked on Properties for the files, it stated they were located in User/Coputer/Desktop. I used Windows Explorer to go to User/Coputer/Desktop and found the files listed there. When I tried to delete them from the folder, Windows said they weren't the folder and wouldn't delete them. Any suggestions?
